In true Quetzaltrekkers fashion, the majority of our gear has been obtained by donations to the cause. If you are a supplier and would like to donate some gear for the PCT, please get in contact at qt2pct.gmail.com!
Most PCT hikers spend between $4,000-$8,000 during a thru-hike. From investing in quality gear that’s going to hold up to abuse every day for five months, to shipping ourselves food and supplies on the more remote parts of the trail, to the cost of skipping out on half a year of employment, you can see why. While the adventure is worth every penny and we are prepared to blow our savings on it, if we still have a little left in the ol’ bank account when the trip is over, we will be ECSTATIC! If you appreciate what we are doing, find Quetzaltrekkers compelling, and are inclined to make our trip a little more affordable or perhaps a little more luxury, we would be endlessly and utterly grateful for:
1. A cup of coffee to keep our bones warm, $5
2. A juicy meal to fulfill our calorie intakes, $10
3. A night out of the woods in a hotel, shower included, $70
4. New pair of Brooks Cascadias, we’ll each destroy a couple pairs, $90
To set aside a bit of your donation to the cause for us hikers, specify in the designated message box once you return to our site after making your donation through PayPal. Or you can always just email us at qt2pct.com. Regardless of the amount of your donation, we thank you greatly. We have spent the better part of the past six months as volunteers, and thus do not have deep pockets for a hike of this magnitude. Every bit helps us out. Thanks for being awesome.
